OpelZafiratourer - five- or seven-seater front-wheel drive C-class minivan. The third generation of the car, which appeared in 2011 and received the additional name Tourer, is designed not to replace its predecessor, but to expand the brand's lineup. Opel Zafira B and Zafira Tourer are produced in parallel.
Opel Zafira Tourer is built on the platform of the latest generation Astra : McPherson struts are installed in front, and a torsion beam with a Watt mechanism is installed in the back, which limits the lateral movements of the rear wheels and imitates a multi-link.
The model has grown significantly. If the length of the predecessor was approaching the mark of 4.5 meters, then the new generation is approaching the figure of 4.7 meters. The cabin has become even more spacious. Like many minivans, the Zafira Tourer is distinguished by a large number of drawers and pockets for small things, advanced interior transformation options.
The car is offered in several standard configurations, which can be understaffed with the help of options. The "base" includes ABS, ESP, front and side airbags.
The list of additional equipment includes adaptive AFL + xenon headlights, which have learned to adapt not only to speed and cornering angles, but also to the terrain. For example, on slopes, the beam of light is directed a little higher so that the road is illuminated as far as possible. The headlights learned this thanks to the optional Opel Eye system, the main task of which is to recognize traffic signs. However, the system's camera simultaneously also monitors the position of the headlights of the car in front and even the distance to the last one. If the driver gapes, the Zafira Tourer will slow down on its own up to 30 km / h, while light and sound signals will be activated to draw attention to the danger.
In addition, a rear video camera, lane control and blind spot monitoring systems, as well as an adaptive FlexRide chassis, which offers three driving modes: Standard, Tour and Sport, are available for a surcharge. It is noteworthy that in Opel, as in Audi models, the driver can choose individual settings. For example, set the transmission and engine modes to “Sport”, and set the shock absorbers and steering wheel to the most comfortable Tour.
Petrol modifications are equipped with engines ranging from 115 to 140 hp. In addition, the range of engines includes a power plant with a volume of 1.6 liters (150 hp), which can run on both gasoline and propane-butane. So far, only one diesel engine has been provided for the Ukrainian market - a two-liter unit with a capacity of 130 hp. All engines are paired with manual five- or six-speed boxes, but for a 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine, as well as for a diesel engine, you can choose a six-speed automatic for a surcharge.
