Opel Astra GTC - front-wheel drive five-seater C-class hatchback. The premiere of the new generation of the three-door took place in 2011. Despite the external similarity with the five-door version, the Astra GTC has only three body parts in common with it: side mirrors, door handles and a roof antenna. The rest of the external "decor" of the car is absolutely original. But the interior almost completely repeats the interior of the five-door.
However, the main differences are hidden inside. For example, the front "cart" of the "Astra" GTC is different from the five-door version. The three-door received a compact modification of the HiPerStrut front suspension with steering knuckles. A similar design is installed on the sports Opel Insignia OPC, as well as hot hatches Ford Focus ST And Renault Megane RS. In addition to everything, the engineers also expanded the wheel tracks: front by 40 mm and rear by 30 mm. The rear chassis remained the same - a twisting beam with Watt rods, imitating a multi-link suspension. Thanks to the alterations, the Astra GTS turned out to be more reckless to drive compared to the usual Astra.
Among the interesting options available for the model, it is worth noting the panoramic roof, the adaptive FlexRide chassis, the difference between the three modes of which (Standart, Tour and Sport) is especially noticeable in the three-door, the AFL + smart lighting system, orthopedic front seats, 20-inch wheels.
The range of engines consists of petrol (from 100 to 180 hp) and diesel (110 and 130 hp) engines. All power plants are offered with manual gearboxes, but a six-speed automatic is available as an alternative for a 1.4-liter gasoline unit (140 hp), as well as a two-liter diesel engine.
Opel Astra GTC is produced in Germany.
