Opel Antara The model has been produced since 2007. In 2011, a facelift version went on sale. The main external difference from the pre-styling version was the new front bumper and false radiator grille. The interior has been refreshed thanks to new finishing materials.
Nevertheless, the changes affected not only the appearance, but also power units and assemblies. The developers improved the rigidity of the body, installed more elastic silent blocks and an anti-roll bar increased in diameter in the front suspension. In addition, Opel Antara received a reconfigured rear suspension and steering.
The range of engines now includes two power plants:
2.4-liter gasoline engine (167 hp, 230 Nm) + six-speed manual or automatic transmission;
2.2-liter turbodiesel - the maximum power of the unit depends on the gearbox. With "mechanics" the engine output is 163 hp, and with an automatic - 184 hp. The peak torque in both cases is the same and equal to 350 Nm.
Both motors are available for both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. In the latter case, the torque is transmitted to the rear wheels using an interaxle electromagnetic clutch.
Opel Antara is well equipped even in the initial configuration, which includes a stabilization system, front, side and curtain airbags, air conditioning, CD / MP3 audio system with the ability to connect players and phones via the AUX connector.
Antara has a turned twin - Chevrolet Captiva, which is available not only in a five-seater, but also in a seven-seater version. Ground clearance Opel Antara is 176 mm. The model is produced at the General Motors plant in South Korea.
