Opel Meriva - front-wheel drive five-seater B-class compact van. The second generation of the model, which debuted in 2010, stopped using the Opel Corsa platform and is built on a “cart” Opel Zafira. Thanks to this, the Meriva has noticeably improved ride and noise isolation, and the interior has become more spacious. In terms of its dimensions, the model surpasses many competitors, including Honda Jazz, Kia Venga, nissan note.

The car is fully consistent with the modern design of the brand: powerful rear fenders, branded "boomerangs" on the sides, tightened drop-shaped optics. But Meriva also has original solutions, for example, a wavy window line. In addition, the interior decoration does not copy, but only echoes the interior decor and ergonomics of the older Astra and Insignia models. At the same time, according to the number of various pockets and containers for small things, Meriva puts the latter on both shoulder blades.

However, the most noticeable change was the rear doors, which swing open in the opposite direction and are equipped with latches with four positions. In the old days, it was difficult to surprise with such decisions, but now only Rolls-Royce installs swing doors.

The increase in the wheelbase and the overall overall length has led to the fact that the degree of freedom of transformation of the interior and adjustments of the Opel Meriva is one of the highest in the class. The rear seats can be moved not only in the longitudinal, but also in the transverse direction, increasing the trunk in the first case, and in the second - turning the three-seater sofa into two separate chairs. The adjustment range of the front seats is 240 mm in length and 60 mm in height.

In Europe, the model has a very wide range of not only gasoline, but also diesel engines. The list of power units for the Ukrainian market is a bit more modest:

• 1.4-liter gasoline engine (120 hp, 175 Nm) + five-speed “mechanics;

• 1.4-liter gasoline engine (120 hp, 200 Nm) + six-speed "mechanics" or automatic;

• 1.4-liter gasoline engine (140 hp, 200 Nm) + six-speed manual gearbox;

• 1.7-liter diesel engine (110 hp, 280 Nm) + six-speed "mechanics" or automatic;

• 1.7-liter diesel engine (130 hp, 300 Nm) + six-speed "mechanics".

Serial production of Opel Meriva has been established in Spain.
